Nose Lift (Rhinoplasty)

One distinguishes between small and large nose corrections. A small correction would be, for instance, the removal of a small nose hump or small corrections of the nose tip. Larger nose corrections demand complex anatomical alterations also often involving breaking of a nose bone in order to reach a satisfactory reshaping of the nose. This technique requires the placing of a nose cast which should stay on for about 2 weeks. The cast lies on the nose skin like a small butterfly and protects the underlying bone during the healing process.

Small nose corrections are made by local anesthetic whereas full anesthesia is required for large nose corrections. An overnight stay at the hospital is usually not necessary. The patient may leave the surgery day clinic after a rest for a few hours to return home.
